The Icepack I Can't Live Without

Mrs. Migraine wearing Headache Hat

Whether you only get migraines occasionally or you are a chronic warrior like me, an icepack is a must-have for battling the beast. Unlike when I was dealing with headaches as a child, there are lots of options on the market for wearable packs made just for migraineurs. Because my pain can last from hours to days, I need multiple icepacks in the rotation to keep my noggin’ numb. But there is one that I reach for most often and is considered the heavy hitter of the bunch.

The Headache Hat is my favorite of the bunch because it gets my head much colder than all the rest and keeps it that way for longer. The wrap is a soft, stretch material with a pack of individually layered cubes of real ice on the inside. This is the secret to why it performs better than wraps with gel packs on the inside. The downside to using real ice is that the cubes are quite hard and not as comfortable while laying down. The hat comes with its own storage pouch while in the freezer and also has a removable fleece barrier to allow for temperature control. As a bonus, it is understated enough that it can be worn in public and not make you look completely ridiculous!

I think this should be a must-have for anyone experiencing the pain of migraine. Make sure this one gets on your wish list, or better yet, practice a bit of self-care and purchase one or two for yourself!
